Article I. The name of this organization shall be Altered Reality.
Article II. The purpose of the organization is to

Promote a better understanding of science fiction and fantasy

Provide an outlet for those interested in science fiction and fantasy

Have fun
Article III. Levels, Rights, and Removal of Members
No student may be denied admission to, participate in, or the benefits of, or discriminated against in any club/organization because of the student’s race, color, creed, religion, sex, gender, national origin, disability, ancestry, age, sexual orientation, pregnancy, marital status, or parental status.

Members may

Participate in all club activities without charge

Vote in all elections

If a student, hold office

Be required to pay for club events

Not hold office

Vote on any issue except the expenditure of club funds

Student Non-Members, who will consist of

Any UW Rock County student who has not yet met the attendance requirements

Membership will be recorded by the Vice-President and tracked by the secretary

Removal of Members

Just cause must first be established by the advisor, then

A 2/3 majority vote is required for removal

Article IV. Officers and Duties

The executive committee shall consist of the following:

President
-
Presides over Altered Reality and Executive Committee meetings
-
Does not vote except in the event of a tie
-
Can convene special sessions
-
Can appoint members to vacant officer positions
-
Has all other powers and privileges not otherwise detailed in this document

Vice-President
-
Shall take the place of the President if he or she is not present
-
Takes attendance and addresses attendance problems
-
Chairs the constitutional committee
-
-
Secretary
-
Shall record minutes
-
Shall provide members with an agenda before each meeting
-
-
Treasurer
-
Shall keep all financial records
-
Consults with the advisor on all financial matters
-
Spends money only as allocated by the club
-

Article V. Meetings
-
Meetings shall take place no less than once per month
-
Call to order is made by the President, or the Vice-President in his or her absence
-
Quorum will consist of at least three officers and two other members
-
The agenda is set by the executive committee and distributed by the secretary via email
-
Members must attend at least three meetings per semester to maintain membership status
-
Meetings shall follow Robert’s Rules of Order
Article VI. Elections

All elections, except those specifically designated otherwise in this document, shall be decided by a simple majority
-
Nominations for officer positions are made by Members
-
Nominees are voted upon at the next Club meeting, which shall not be earlier than two days after the day of the nomination
Article VII. Committees

Consists of the Vice President and at least four volunteer members-at-large

Works on changes and amendments to the Constitution

Proposes changes to the constitution to the membership

Brings any suggestions to the membership for a vote

Article VIII. Constitutional Amendments

Suggestions for changes to the Constitution are brought to the Constitutional Committee

The Constitutional Committee shall propose changes to the general membership
-
A 2/3 majority is required for passage of any changes
Amendments to the Constitution
1. Quorum will consist of at least two officers and three other members
